The 90's was a great time for alternative music. It was the time of many great musicians and bands. It was the time of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, White Zombie, Foo Fighters, Silverchair, Hootie and the Blowfish, Frente!, The Smashing Pumpkins, Supergrass, Nelson, Dishwalla, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Local H, Live and so many more that the list goes on and on and on. It was the time when grunge had the scene, when punk was still punk, heavy metal was heavier, hardcore was great and when modern rock came in, it still sounds better than today's modern, modern-rock or emo or what-ever... I'm not saying that music in the new millenium is not good, but alternative music today lacks the character and rawness of those potrayed back in the 90s.
So for you kids today listening to old school bands like Green Day, The Offspring, Pearl Jam, you really should listen to what they sounded like more than ten years ago. So in light of this, I made a playlist of music from the 90s. 50 tracks all in all, they may not all be hits but these were the songs you would most likely hear on the radio and in home made mixed tapes. Yeah cassette tapes, CDRs were too damn expensive back then.
And for the young adults who grew up listening to them, these tracks will bring you back down memory lane. So if you guys and girls out there have any of these tracks on CD or mp3, give it a listen, if not go on out and get yourself a piece of musical history.
-P.S.- Do not PM me to request for these tracks, for this deviation is only a playlist. I will not file-share the intellectual property of these musicians.
GO 90'S grUUUUAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OLD SCHOOL ALWAYS BE AN OLD SCHOOL...
AND THEY ARE GREAT!!!
AND SOMETHING YOU ALL AS MUSICIAN SHOULD LEARN FROM ...
You're absolutely right!
I was pretty young during the 90s, but boy did I wear the radio out. I listened to music so much...
Recently my dad got me this mix CD called Buzz Ballads for my birthday, saying I would probably recognize the songs. He was right... and memory lane indeed! Since then I've been trying to dig in my memory for some more of those great songs I used to love so much. I have a real soft spot for them. This is a great playlist.
